Beijin 2008 Olympics

It's Day 14 when the whole event is almost going to its ending.

The most exciting inducement to follow the Olympics news everyday is baseball-- which arouses every Taiwanese's attention and excitement. It's been 16 years we never got Golden Medal, so everyone expects Taipei Baseball Team can win back Taiwan baseball reputation this year. However, it turned out to be only a dream. Our team kept losing in a serial (five) games, saying goodbye to semifinal.

It's really heartbreaking.

Many people point fingers at the coaches and some players, playing the blame game as an outlet for their disappointment; meanwhile, there are some discussions about how Taiwanese fans and players overestimate the power of rivals for many years. We think of our baseball team as strong as the team of several years ago, the team with whom few countries could contest. However, in 2008 Olympics, we can't even win China and South Korea which, in overall prediction, are supposed to lose the games when playinging with Taipei.

It's time to wake up from the dream and examine all the faults and strategies during past years. I still believe our baseball team have much power to match those teams like Cuba or America. It's just something about players' and fans' attitudes.

GoGoGo! Taipei Baseball Team! See you in 2012 Olympics.
